Today is Thursday, February 14, 2019. The day of love all over the world. Most people have been running and will be running many errands today to make sure their beloved is greeted with warm feelings, desires, and sensations of love. On this special day we celebrate the art of love. Today, Valentine’s day is the only day dedicated to the heartbeat of love.
Valentine’s day has its beginnings due to the Roman festival of Lupercalia. Lupercalia was an ancient festival held yearly on February 15. It was conducted under the eye of a priest called Luperci. This festival of love celebrated the season of Spring. This was especially important for fertility rites, where men and women were gathered, and paired by a system of lottery. Fortunately for us, the festival of Lupercalia was changed to St. Valentine’s Day. This was the day of romance that we observe and celebrate, since the 14th century.
Ms. Rachel Meghan Markle, soon to be wife and Duchess (we’re still gushing to figure out her official title after she marries Prince Henry (Harry) of Windsor, stepped out of her and Harry’s Range Rover meeting up with the Duke of Cambridge, William and Duchess of Cambridge Catherine, to embark on today’s events for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. Meghan rose to the occasions, as always, draped in an ensemble showcasing her already fashionable status.
Ms. Markle was a dream in a cream Amanda Wakeley coat. It was worn over a distinguished navy Amanda Wakeley dress and accessorized with a custom hat by, Stephen Jones. Meghan carried a small Mulberry Darley satchel. Meghan finalized the look in some heels that give us, Sex in the City, Carrie Bradshaw vibes, with her suede Manolo Blahnik pumps. There is nothing more poignant than spending Valentine’s Day with the loves of your life. My husband and son are those persons. They bring me a whirlwind of emotions on a daily basis, lol! Nevertheless, we as wives and mothers would not have it any other way. So, on this Valentine’s Day 2018, I wish you nothing but smiles, heart flutters and butterflies.
